Holiday with your horse in Mid-Wales!

Come and stay with your horse at Fishpools Cottage Bed and Breakfast!

Fishpools b and b is situated on the edge of the Radnor Forest in the old county of Radnorshire in Mid-Wales. It can easily be accessed across our land without having to touch a road!

Explore the Radnor Forest with your equine friend and take pleasure in the quiet lanes, the peaceful countryside and the opportunity to observe nature. Follow tracks and bridle-paths that were originally ancient drovers routes and take in the stunning views over the Radnor forest valley. There is an abundance of wildlife in the forest and surrounding countryside – try and spot the deers, red kites and buzzards that live in this area.

Fishpools cottage bed and breakfast is perfectly situated for horse-riding and offers a comfortable, relaxed base for both you and your horse whether you choose to stay one night or longer.

Stopping off at Fishpools en-route

For those who are riding the long distance Radnor Forest Ride, a 70 mile ride that links the Three Rivers Ride in the Brecon Beacons and the Jack Mytton Way in Shropshire the cottage is ideally situated as the ride runs through Bleddfa from Cascob to Lloyney.

There are several easily accessible bed and breakfast establishments in the area so why not plan a ride across the different terrains that Mid-Wales has to offer. Contact us to discuss this further.

Petal rides

Using our horse bed and breakfast as a base, you and your horse can explore the forest and surrounding areas using our marked maps and detailed route descriptions. There are many forest tracks and bridle paths to explore and rides can be of varying length and terrain to suit.

Why not treat yourself to a mapped day ride where you can be met at lunch time with a luxurious picnic to enjoy.

Horse and human accommodation

We have three traditional stables with rubber matting and shavings in the courtyard next to the house or there is safe grass turnout in our paddocks. For an extra special treat we can muck out for you at £5 per horse per day.

Organic hay and a feed of coarse mix are available at cost.

We have a large, safe tack room to store your tack and a grooming kit for guest’s use.

After a perfect day spent with your horse, enjoy a hot relaxing bubble bath or refreshing shower and then settle down in the comfortable guest sitting room, in front of the wood burner with a nice glass of wine (we are not licensed but you are welcome to bring your own) before either a trip to the pub to sample their fare or enjoy a three course home-cooked meal at the cottage.
