Bed and Breakfast with your horse in Wales

We have had a good summer although it has been a bit wet at times! We welcomed several horses and their riders who used the bed and breakfast as a base and rode several of the petal ride routes through the Radnor forest and over the hills. Their horses enjoyed the lush grass whilst they enjoyed lovely home cooked dinners and luxurious picnics! This winter, Molly and I will map out some longer routes, taking in some of the beautiful views and diverse terrain that the area has to offer.

We also welcomed six free-rein riders who stayed for the night and then rode on to the Red Lion in Llanfihangel-Nant-Melan.

Smudge, our pony is returning home this week after recovering from laminitis and so she will be included in as many walks and rides as possible- she has to be figure concious now and think of those calories! She will meet the new chickens – Ruby, Magda, Bronwen and Helen and the cockerel, Trevor when she returns. Unfortunately, Trevors timing switch is a bit faulty and on occassions he has been known to crow far too early in the morning! Luckily, the guest rooms are far enough away for him not to disturb them-only me!

We are updating our mapped routes to include other local bed and breakfast accommodation and hope to have confirmed a loop by early next year. Watch this space….!

We welcomed some motor bike riders this year too. They enjoyed exploring the green lanes although they were aware that some were locked because of previous damage. However, they managed to find lots of new places to enjoy and were enthralled by the remoteness and the views.

Guests have also enjoyed the vintage car rally, the 4-wheel driving competion in the Radnor forest and events at the Bleddfa gallery – Radnor really is a brilliant place to stay!!
